Mascom to deploy satellite connectivity to Botswana market

Introduction

Mascom, a telecommunications leader in Gaborone, Botswana, has selected the Twoobii Smart Satellite Service from Q-KON to service the Botswana market. MASCOM is already servicing the Botswana market using fixed LTE, fibre and wireless networks. The Twoobii satellite service will be integrated into the MASCOM portfolio to ensure service delivery anywhere in Botswana.

The Challenge

World class lodges, retail businesses, mining and agriculture operations all require reliable and business-grade broadband services, regardless of their location, and MASCOM needed to offer a solution that can meet this requirement reliably and at market related rates. While all satellite services can provide connectivity anywhere and at any time, Twoobii’s offering also meets the performance demands and the need to provide voice, real-time video, and financial transaction services (POS) via our satellite service.

The Solution

The Twoobii Smart Satellite Service includes advanced content management, quality-of-service and profile engineering that provides an elegant solution to meet the various business broadband challenges.

“Our partnership with Twoobii satellite service from Q-KON Africa will allow us to bring the full benefits of Smart Satellite Services to enterprises operating in “off-grid” or remote locations,” commented Shimboy Kgosiemang, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Mascom.
