The Challenge
Vendors rely heavily on seamless Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions to serve tens of thousands of fans at these events. The surge in attendees often overwhelms existing LTE infrastructure, leading to slow or failed transactions—frustrating both vendors and customers. To address this challenge, one of South Africa’s leading banks partnered with Q-KON to deliver a dependable communication solution, ensuring vendors could operate efficiently and capitalize on the high foot traffic during these high profile events.
The Solution
Q-KON deployed the Twoobii Smart Satellite Solution, ideal for these high density events. In partnership with the bank Twoobii Smart Satellite Services was seamlessly integrated to ensure reliable, venue-wide connectivity. Over 400 POS devices used by food and beverage vendors were connected through the satellite network, enabling fast, uninterrupted transactions despite heavy LTE congestion. This robust solution ensured reliable cashless payments and enhanced customer satisfaction throughout the events.
