Sphinxblick Open Air (SOA) is a 3-day rock music festival held on a farm near Usakos in Namibia. Celebrated as the most family-friendly rock concert in the Southern hemisphere, SOA brings together a vibrant mix of legendary South African bands such as LA Cobra and local Namibian bands such as Off Shore and Weissdorn.
Set against the backdrop of Namibia’s wide-open skies, the festival offers more than just live music – it’s a full experience of delicious food, beautiful landscapes, camping under the stars, and nothing but good vibes.
FNB Namibia was tasked to provide dependable card payment services at the Sphinxblick Open Air Rock Festival (SOA), held in the remote and connectivity-challenged Erongo Region. FNB stepped up to the challenge, and together with Q-KON, enabled seamless transactions at this cashless event. In this isolated desert environment, the ability to process reliable card payments was critical as the festival welcomed about 550 attendees al exited for the diverse lineup of 23 bands from Namibia, South Africa, and Germany
The Twoobii solution, powered by advanced satellite technology, continues to deliver reliable and hassle-free connectivity – even in the most remote locations. At this 4th Sphinxblick Open Air Rock Festival, held from 28–30 March 2025, Q-KON once again ensured seamless connectivity for the FNB speed points through its high-performance Twoobii Smart Satellite Service. This robust solution enabled festivalgoers to make secure card payments with ease at food, beverage, and merchandise stalls, ensuring a smooth and fully cashless experience in the heart of the desert.
