27 Mar Shipwreck Lodge – Mozambique
Shipwreck Lodge is luxurious self-catering lodge located in Pomene, Mozambique. In 1960 a ship called the Berea was shipwrecked on the South Beach and parts of the ship were still on the beach when The Shipwreck Lodge was being built a few years ago. This part of Mozambique is hidden away and undoubtedly hold some of the most diverse and unspoilt waters along the east coast of Africa.
While the area has some GSM cellular voice and data services communication, this is not reliable and also not sufficient to meet the needs of the modern traveller and tourist. Communication towers regular fail due to power supply outages and lack of sustainable generator operation. The lodge owner had to consider alternative options in order to service guests and have reliable communication to run the operations.
The Twoobii satellite business broadband services was installed at the Lodge to provide telephony, data, broadband services and guest hotspot services. The Twoobii service operates 24/7 with a network uptime of 99,95% to enable trusted operations and satisfying guests services.
“Everyone seeks a little peace and quiet and tranquillity these days but also wants to be constantly connected. With Twoobii, we can now offer it all to our guests. Additionally, a reliable connection for our business operation helps us to run smoothly and efficiently, thus ultimately giving us more time to concentrate on the most important thing, our guests.” – Hannes Nel, Shipwreck Lodge
